Loophole!

Another gleaming gem (of potentially useful information?) that I fossicked from this week's pile of legal memos:
According to article 6 (1) of the Beijing municipal government's Regulations for the Administration of the Showering, Beauty Treatment, and Hairdressing Industry, paid massages must not be given by the opposite gender. However, this restriction does not apply to facial/head massages and foot massages, which means that paid facial/head massages and foot massages can be given by the opposite gender. Article 6 (1) only prohibits paid massages provided by the opposite gender; massages provided by the opposite gender for free are not prohibited.

You see how this works? Next time you go to a little neighbourhood massage joint to get a quick scalp rub from one of the attractive and supple-fingered young ladies there, don't forget to ask about the free extras on offer. Don't worry: it's all perfectly legitimate.
