The week's bon mot

"No man can think clearly when his fists are clenched."

George Jean Nathan (1882-1958)

I have a new 'hero' for providing the weekly nugget o' wisdom: Nathan was America's foremost drama critic of the first half of the 20th Century, a close associate of H.L. Mencken, an early champion of Eugene O'Neill, and a celebrated wit.
