Since we had some snow at the weekend - quite a heavy dump between midnight and 2am on Sunday; hopefully the last of this rather schizophrenic winter we've been having - I thought I'd offer you this additional haiku this week. One of 'mine', but translated/adapted from a Japanese original.
Flying flakes of snow:
How charming they seem, and yet
Also terrible.
This is the original (romanized version; sorry, can't handle Japanese script on here!), by one of the leading female haiku poets of the 20th Century:
Kaza-hana o
Utsukushi to mite
Ushi to mite
Hoshino Tatsuko (1903-1980)
