One final trivia challenge for you in my 'Film List' series - here are some of my favourite lines from action film heroes; some of them obvious, some, perhaps, a little less so. Best of luck!
As usual, I make no claim to the canonical accuracy of these quotes; recognisability is enough. I'll post the answers in the comments below next week.
1) "My mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughing at him. Now, if you apologise - like I know you're going to - I might just convince him that you really didn't mean it."
2) "If it bleeds, we can kill it."
3) "I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum."
4) "What do you think you're doing, Jimmy? If you keep on stabbing me like that, you're going to kill me."
5) "Remember how I said I was going to kill you last? I lied."
6) "Say hello to my little friend!"
7) "Did you get elected?" "No, but I got nominated real good."
8) "Ever use a rifle grenade, soldier?" "Pick my teeth with them."
9) "You're the disease and I'm the cure."
10) "You kill me in a dream, you better wake up and apologise."
11) "You punch like you take it up the ass."
12) "You boys going to pull those pistols - or whistle 'Dixie'?"
13) "When I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you."
14) "I only told you to scare them." "People scare better when they're dying."
15) "I kick ass - for the Lord!"
16) "I don't want to shatter your ego, but this is not the first time I've had a gun pointed at me."
17) "I ain't got time to bleed."
18) "Don't fuck with the Lords of Hell." "Don't fuck with the babysitter!"
19) "What do you fags want?"
20) "That was over quickly." "Yeah. Everybody could shoot."
Super-duper extra bonus question:
21) "We're not going to lose. Losing's what the other guys do."
21) "We're not going to lose. Losing's what the other guys do."
I have - belatedly - added the ANSWERS in the comments below.

Great selection! I think I know about half of these, 7 or 8 anyways. And most of the rest feel kind of familiar.
Gary! Good to have you back - where have you been?
It looks as though you will - YET AGAIN! - win 'the prize' here. Well done.
1) "My mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughing at him. Now, if you apologise - like I know you're going to - I might just convince him that you really didn't mean it."
"Joe", better known as 'The Man With No Name' (Clint Eastwood), in Fistful of Dollars.
2) "If it bleeds, we can kill it."
'Dutch' (Arnold Schwarzennegger), about the alien, in Predator.
3) "I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum."
George Nada ('Rowdy' Roddy Piper), about to go apeshit on a bunch of aliens-disguised-as-humans in a bank, in John Carpenter's They Live!
4) "What do you think you're doing, Jimmy? If you keep on stabbing me like that, you're going to kill me."
Real-life Australian criminal thug Mark 'Chopper' Read (Eric Bana), confused by his cellmate's half-assed attempt to assassinate him, in the compelling biopic Chopper.
5) "Remember how I said I was going to kill you last? I lied."
One of the great kiss-off lines, from one-man army John Matrix (Arnie again) in my favourite action film, Commando.
6) "Say hello to my little friend!"
Cuban coke baron Tony Montana (Al Pacino) unveiling his assault rifle/rocket launcher in the famous climax to Brian De Palma's Scarface.
7) "Did you get elected?" "No, but I got nominated real good."
Chris Adams (Yul Brynner) and Vin Tanner (Steve McQueen) improvising a flippant code to check whether they've been wounded when they've run the gauntlet of delivering an unpopular corpse through an extremely hostile town to Boot Hill - in their establishing scene in The Magnificent Sevent.
8) "Ever use a rifle grenade, soldier?" "Pick my teeth with them."
Professor Nesbitt (Paul Christian) and Corporal Stone (Lee Van Cleef - in, I think, his debut screen appearance) at the climax of B-movie sci-fi classic The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms.
9) "You're the disease and I'm the cure."
Great line (used on the posters), but a fairly terrible film: Marion Cobretti (Sly Stallone) in Cobra.
10) "You kill me in a dream, you better wake up and apologise."
The latent antagonism between Mr White (Harvey Keitel) and Mr Blonde (Michael Madsen) is glimpsed early, in the great coffee shop scene at the opening of Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.
11) "You punch like you take it up the ass."
Choicest of many foul-mouthed putdowns conjured up by Jake La Motta (Robert De Niro) in Scorsese's Raging Bull.
12) "You boys going to pull those pistols - or whistle 'Dixie'?"
Josie Wales (Clint Eastwood) bringing things to a head quickly, in The Outlaw Josie Wales.
13) "When I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you."
An unremarkable film, but a great line: Eddie Cusack (Chuck Norris) in Code of Silence.
14) "I only told you to scare them." "People scare better when they're dying."
A wonderful exchange between the Satanic gunslinger Frank (Henry Fonda) and his ostensible boss Morton (Gabriele Ferzetti) in Once Upon A Time In The West.
15) "I kick ass - for the Lord!"
Father McGruder (Stuart Devenie), the kung fu kicking, zombie-slaying priest in Peter Jackson's hilarious horror comedy Dead-Alive (aka Braindead).
16) "I don't want to shatter your ego, but this is not the first time I've had a gun pointed at me."
Ultra-cool hitman Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) to psycho-punk 'Ringo' (Tim Roth) during the climactic showdown in the diner in Pulp Fiction.
17) "I ain't got time to bleed."
Blain (Jesse Ventura), one of Arnie's sidekicks in Predator (also quoted in No. 2 above).
18) "Don't fuck with the Lords of Hell." "Don't fuck with the babysitter!"
The lovely Chris (Elisabeth Shue) suddenly showing her inner stell in facing down a street gang leader (Clark Johnson) on a subway train in Adventures In Babysitting (known in America as A Night On The Town - I presume because the original title sounded too much like a porn film?!).
19) "What do you fags want?"
'Sailor' Ripley (Nicolas Cage), deciding that conciliation would be a vain tactic when confronted by a Hispanic street gang down by the docks - at the end of David Lynch's Wild At Heart.
I have long thought that - if the Chinese secret police ever knock on my door in the middle of the night - this is what I would like to say to them.
20) "That was over quickly." "Yeah. Everybody could shoot."
Loyal sidekick Everett Hitch (Viggo Mortensen) and his boss, the gnarly marshal-for-hire Virgil Cole (Ed Harris), reflect on the final shootout in the superb 2008 Western (directed by Harris) Appaloosa.
Super-duper extra bonus question:
21) "We're not going to lose. Losing's what the other guys do."
Um, actually, that was ME - psyching up my Mooting Partner for an important round of competition during my time at Bar School.
Stell??? Elisabeth Shue, of course, had inner steel. My typing is getting very sloppy!
