Know your customer

Ah, Asian food labelling in English - a neverending source of belly laughs and blushes!

[Well, actually Jamaican, by the look of it. Second language English speakers - what a naughty bunch they are, eh?]

Great picture. Know where I can find more. Browse to the ever reliable Engrish.com*. First picture on the site right now- http://www.engrish.com/wp-content/uploads//2011/10/rancid.jpg . Bob's your guma (or is it jiujiu... or bobo... shushu even?!). Silly China!

* I have no idea if full HTML works on Blogger but I do know you know how to copy and paste.

Most HTML is fine in Blogger comments; so, you can embed links. (I'm not savvy enough with HTML to be able to do that on my own, so I copy & paste from the 'HTML view' in the Blogger compose page when I want to do it.)

I haven't looked at Engrish.com for a while. Surely there ought to be such a site purely for Chinglish somewhere?

I suppose Jamaicans are technically not even 'second language' speakers of English, although their native patois is very far from the global 'standard' form.

I still haven't been able to ascertain whether this product is from Jamaica (although I recall from a visit there many years ago, that they were prone to prefer the word 'cock' to 'chicken' sometimes when talking of food).

Hmm, fish tea.

Aha - so it is a Jamaican company (http://www.gracefoods.com/page/contact-us). Thank you, John.
