A little while ago, I was trying to perk up a friend who was anxious about a forthcoming public speaking engagement, and so sent him an encouraging text message. He replied glumly: "It'll be fun when it's over."
My response: "Ah, they say that about wars too. But the real fun is dodging the bullets."
That's my approach, anyway - to teaching, lecturing, life...
