With ironic, sinister symmetry, the celebrity artist/activist was incarcerated on the same day that my friend Wu Yuren was finally released from 10 months' detention.
Now, like Wu, he's been released on extremely restrictive 'bail' terms - but could face re-arrest at any moment. He was detained incommunicado from April 3rd to June 22nd 2011.

"Released on parole" after 10 months; "parole" lifted another year later. The original charges against him were apparently dropped without his trial ever being formally concluded.

- Froog is an escaped lawyer - but there is no need for alarm; he is only a danger to himself, not to the general public. An eternal wanderer, he now lives in an exotic city somewhere in the 'Third World' *, where he is held prisoner by an unfinished novel (or, more precisely, an unstarted novel). Funny, after I saw this post's title in my Google Reader inbox yesterday I meant to stop by...
While nosing around whiskey river this week, I came across a reference to a "random haiku generator based on oblique strategies," with a link. Which is why I immediately connected with your weekly haiku; I bet Froog would like this, I thought. Alas, the link no longer leads to an active page. BUT immediately above that link was another, labeled "100 worthwhile dilemmas." It leads you to a page somehow connected to Brian Eno, which is also connected to -- based on? -- these "oblique strategies."
...and following the link at the bottom of that page ("more about Oblique Strategies") led me down a very curious rabbit-hole.
Brian Eno is a very interesting guy.
Have you done a post on RAMH called Rabbit Holes yet? Only a matter of time, I surmise.
The flash cards are quirkily diverting, but I was hoping for something rather more from that '100 worthwhile dilemmas' title. I think someone - you? me? - should try to compile that list.
