Bon mot for the week

"How I have walked, day after day, and all alone, to see if there was not something among the old things which was new!"

A familiar sensation.

This may be one reason why I like blogging (others' as well as my own) -- sharing the old things makes them new again.

(Which reminds me of a favorite moment in All That Jazz. I know YouTube is flaky for you, but on the off-chance it's working, the moment is captured here. Ann Reinking was always a fantasy girlfriend of mine!)

Thanks, JES. I'll try that in a while; YouTube has been rather more functional these last few days (although I always seem to have a problem with the audio and videolinks on your blog; I look forward to "catching up" on a lot of stuff there when I go on holiday shortly).

Funnily enough, I watched All That Jazz again just a few months ago. "It's showtime, folks!"

Well if you come and stay in Alexandria, you will see an interesting combo of old and new - I know you are pretty experienced with Old Town, but Delray will be novel.

And as for Old Town, I probably hang at different places to the ones you are used to.

Nothing really to do with the quote, but a shameless reintroduction to the blog for me...

It's all coming into place, Cowboy.

If Jimbob can sort me a London-DC ticket, I'm hoping to wash up on your doorstep round about next Thursday.

Try to give me a little bit of lead time. I need to clean the basement up a little so you can have your own level with ensuite bathroom...

Let me know what airport too. As long as it isn't a bad time of day, I'll pick you up from Dulles. If it is National, it's a piece of piss - I am around 2 miles from that place.

National would indeed be super-duper, but I think all the international flights come into Dulles or BWI.

Hope to be able to advise later today.

Yes. National is, after all, a National airport. There are no customs/immigration facilities there.
