Beneath one of the road bridges over the canal alongside Beijing's North 2nd Ringroad, half a mile or so away from where I live, as I walked home on this bright warm afternoon, I came upon a young man doing foghorn impressions with his baritone sax.
Impressively resonant in that narrow, shaded space; and charmingly surreal, too; but musical - not really.

You don't need to be musical to enjoy music: see www.thereallyterribleorchestra.com - we played in New York last week and got a standing ovation! (and see links to reviews from my blog lacd.blogspot.com)
Ah yes, sorry I missed that, Livy. I hope you'll have some dates in the UK this summer when I might actually be able to attend.
You don't do foghorn noises, do you?
Not at this point. We do however get our audience to pop paper bags to simulate cannon fire in the 1812 overture (we can only play the last 40 bars) and there are usually some strange noises emanating from the brass section.
Our next public concert is at the Canongate Kirk on Sunday 30th August - at an appropriate time for audience to get to the firework concert later. Hope that you can make it!
