Today is a big deal for the Chinese: the anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic in 1949. Footage of Mao's triumphal proclamation to the crowds on Tiananmen Square seems to be extremely scant (at least on YouTube), although I did find this from a Chinese TV programme about the event.
However, this is a fuller and rather more interesting account, reconstructed with actors for a 1960s propaganda film.
