Perhaps it's all been too much for the dear fellow.I feel I know that expression. It could be China-medal-landslide-ennui; or "The scoring in diving works how?" bafflement; or "Not more f***ing basketball!" tedium; or "No, I am not a tourist or an athlete; I just happen to live in Beijing" exasperation.
