A romantic(?) haiku

Dazzling amber glow,
Hair backlit by winter sun:
Woman by the lake.

Honestly, moments like this quite put you off your stride when you're running.....

did you stop to talk to her?

What??!! Are you mad? It's nearly impossible to STOP when you're running. It's even more impossible to talk to an outrageously beautiful woman you just happen to walk into around Houhai.

well, did you at least keep running in circles until you gathered enough info to figure out how you can meet her later - in a non-running state?

c'mon froog, get with it. you've been holding back the charm from beijing's outrageously beautiful women for months now. They'r all going to stop thinking they are outrageously beautiful anymore and dive into houhai's ice dirty depths in sorrow.

She was near Yinding Qiao; so I sprinted around my 'half lap' of Houhai in 8 minutes rather than my usual 10, thinking that, whichever way she went, north or south, on the east bank or the west, I would run into her again. But alas, no. She must have ducked into a coffee shop or wandered off into one of the hutongs or headed back to the main road. Damn.

As it happens, I do have a lead. Not sure how to follow up on it. Not sure that I dare to try to follow up on it....

In fact it was Qianhai. The Houhai circuit is quite a bit further - nearly twice as long.
