Nanny is being beastly again. This time she has cut us off from Yahoo Mail.
I am very, very, very angry.
I may have to start using Gmail instead (I set up a bunch of accounts ages ago as an 'emergency back-up', but I really don't like the service, will take a while to get the hang of it...... don't have any of my Address Book copied into it - oh, damn!).
This appears to have happened within the last 12 hours or so, and there's no word yet on what might have brought it about. With luck, it will prove to be only a temporary aberration.

At least they remembered to put the plug back in fairly quickly this time. Was it just a transient cock-up, I wonder, or some sort of shot across the bows in Yahoo's ever-ongoing negotiation with the government here?
Oh well, Froog, the good old Nanny state knows best how to stop you hurting yourself and others. Remember, it's the only solution we have...

Yeah, you know,Cowboy, if they could come up with any kind of convincing rationale based on the public well-being for what they're doing, I might quite happily accept it. In fact, I'd accept it a lot more readily if they had any kind of convincing rationale based on protecting the position of a corrupt and outmoded ruling elite. But they don't. It's all just random and stupid and inconsistent.
If you're going to oppress people, at least oppress them for a reason.
Is Buffett still far ahead for you? I get a bit lost on the time difference sometimes.
Buffett is now behind me. The concert started at 8. The rain started at 7.50, and it was thunderstorm heavy through the whole show. Dampened spirits a bit but still a good time.
