Another topical haiku

As the 'new year' celebrations reach their climax in the Far East, we're all starting to feel a little weary and shell-shocked....


Smoke thickens the air;
Warzone-shredded nerves cringing;
Firework overkill.

and more to come! i was told tonight by the Three Sisters that the nightly starburst extravaganza held in our courtyard is going to conclude with a show to stop all shows this Sunday night - plus there will be lanterns all along the sidewalks, hanging from budding plum blossom trees.

I'm excited the plum blossom treebuds are blooming.
