Setting the record straight

Brilliant! Where did you find this?

I think it was on FrostFireZoo.com - but, unfortunately, the site seems to have just ceased to exist!

Nice to hear from you, Caren. Settling back into life in DC? Must be a bit of a cultureshock after two years in ZZ!

There was a whole series of similar looking ads done by a Church group. I don't know if this is part of the series or a copycat.

And, Caren, though I don't know you, should I be blaming you for bringing this unholy weather to DC?

It has been a culture shock. I'm thank my lucky stars every day that I can drink water out of the tap & use "western" toilets.

I'm just now starting to miss China. I needed the break.

British Cowboy, don't blame me for the weather! When I left ZZ it was 100 degrees there!

And BC where in Arlington do you live?? I'm near the Pentagon & Pentagon City.

Crazy, small world.

I am no longer in Arlington. I am now in happy Delray, Arlandria, Linden Gardens, whatever you want to call it...

Just off Mount Vernon Avenue. At a house Froog has studiously refused to visit, despite the presence of spare bedrooms and spare beds.

Where is ZZ?

Zhengzhou is the provincial capital of Henan, a large and almost entirely charmless industrial city a couple of hundred miles south of Beijing.

I will visit next year - and then you'll be sorry. I think you had omitted to mention your superfluity of beds and bedrooms.... although I had come to rather enjoy the studenty squalor of dossing on your sofa-bed.

ooooh, Delray's cute!

Hey Zhengzhou had dust. Lots and
lots of dust. And the charm of country folk moving into the "big" city! And good Xinjiang restaurants... Who am I kidding, it's a hole.

So you're making a Stateside visit next year? Yehaw! We'll have to drink ourselves stupid like we did the last time you were here. And you can always stay with me and the Kraut, if need be.

I have a spare room, and a finished basement with a futon in it. The sofa bed has been donated to E&S.

And yes, Delray rocks. Ever been to the Evening Star, Caren?

We've a spare room with lots of crap, no futon or basement, but a sleeper sofa! :)

I've not been. I'm carless, so I don't get to that area often. Is it delish?

The restaurant is wonderful - chef was just guest chef at the White House. There is a very nice bar attached - GREAT wine list and good selection of beers.

As for lack of car - it is about a $7 cab ride for you. 2000 Mt Vernon Ave.

The neighborhood is really picking up. New restaurants, a great little cheese store with wine bar, we even have a proper butcher just opened. Oh, and the Dairy Godmother, which if you have not ever been there, well, you have never eaten ice cream.
